Answer Hello Barbara. The plastic shavings are from the snubber. If it is making a noise, you will need to check the pump 35-6780 and the thrust bearing 12002213. You will need to lean the washer back and turn the pulleys by hand, with the belt removed. Hope this helps.

Answer Ana, The friction ring/snubber 36108 could create a vibration issue if it is badly worn or "sticking" to the base or isolator. You will also need to check the centerring springs 35948 and ensure they're not stretched out or have loss their tension, and the base to make sure it is not cracked or flexxing when the tub moves.
