Water drips from the water dispenser, what part do I need?
Answer Hello Kevin,
You either need to bleed the air out of the system, or the water valve 12002193 isn't sealing completely when it should be closed. If you have recently changed the water filter, you need to dispense and throw away about two gallons of water to purge the air from the system.
I can switch between water and cubed ice without a problem, but when I hit the button for crushed I still get cubed. I can hear a "click" when moving between water and cube, but no "click" when going to crushed. Will this part fix my issue?
Answer Jerry, No the ice door solenoid is not the issue. You do need to remove the bin and check the auger motor 67003226 and drive yoke
10114901 and nut for loose. The auger motor is a reversible motor and should turn in both directions depending on the cubed or crushed selection. It could be a faulty dispenser control board 67003817 but that should be you're last option, after the other components have been checked. Thanks, and Good Luck
The Ice dispenser on my Maytag Refrigerator works but the flap does not open automatically we have to pull it down with our hand for the ice to come out. What part do I need to fix that. There are no wires odd or loose on the any of the connections. Will the solenoid replacement fix it.
Answer Stephen, You're on the right track, the solenoid could be the issue. But,first check the wiring harness at the door hinge for any loose connections or damaged wires, then if the solenoid circuit checks proper, a "closed" circuit, with a multimeter. You'll need to check for 120 VAC to the solenoid from the control board 67003817 , when you select ice and press the pad. Here's some help, disconnect power to the refrigerator, "Dispenser Facade (some models) 1. Remove drip tray by pulling it straight out from door. 2. Remove two hex screws at the bottom of facade that were hidden by drip tray. 3. Push down on facade to release retainer clips. 4. Remove facade and disconnect ten pin connector from control board. 5. Reverse procedure to reassemble. Dispenser D/C Solenoid (some models) 1. Remove dispenser facade 2. Remove dispenser water tube clip. 3. Remove water tube from assembly collar 4. Remove wires from dispenser light socket. 5. Disconnect ground wire from solenoid assembly. 6. Disconnect wires from D/C solenoid. 7. Remove screws holding D/C solenoid and ice chute assembly. 8. Remove complete assembly. 9. Rotate to backside and remove screws holding D/C solenoid to ice chute assembly. 10.Lift ice chute door to release plunger from retainer. 11. Slide D/C solenoid out of the side of ice chute assembly. 12. Reverse procedure to reassemble." Thanks
