Hello. I have a question for you that bugs me for the last 2 months. My problem is the sound that the washer makes after the centrifuge. I am going to try be more specific: When washer finishes the centrifuge there is loud sound coming from the drum. But the interesting part is that when the washer's power is off and I use my hand to spin the drum, the same sound occur, Of course it's not loud as when the power is on but still you can tell that the sound is the same. Washer works perfectly, there is no noisy sounds during the washing, it's only when the centrifuge is finished.

Should the sound dampening ring be somewhat taught? Mine doesn't seem show excessive wear as it isn't shiney or frayed. However, it is twisted out of shape and does not sit very taught. In fact it seems very loose so that it will slide up and down freely without much of an effort. Could there be another cause for a loud high speed spin cycle? My machine performs a complete cycle but the high speed spin at the end seems rather loud and I think that I can detect that there is some slight rubbing of the tub. Thanks.

Answer Hello James. If it is a bearing noise, you will need to replace the tub support 280184. If the noise is more of a knocking noise, check and make sure the drive block 389140 is not bad or broke. Hope this helps.

Does the dampening ring have anything to do with the spin cycle? My washer will go through all of the washing process, but stops at the spin cycle, leaving the clothes and all the water inside. After draining, I noticed the dampening ring seemed frayed, and actually broke off. Is this my problem with the spin cycle, or do I need a another part? Thanks!!!

Answer Hello Chad. No, the dampening ring 63134 will not prevent the unit from spinning. You will need to check the lid switch 3949247 and see if it is broke or bad. If so, it will prevent the unit from spinning and draining the water. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Answer Hi Audry. If under your washer there is oil on the floor or gear case(transmission) then the gear case shaft seal is bad and you will need to replace the gear case part #389245. If you find the motor is noisy, then the motor part #is [AP2905451}. I hope this helps.Thank you.
