Disassembly sequence for WHIRLPOOL LTE5243DQ6 SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY
To remove the suspension springs you will need to raise the main top. Once the main top is up you will then remove the front panel of the washer cabinet. In order to do this repair the unit will need to be laid on its back to remove the bolts for the spring bottom. Once the spring bolt is removed from the bottom you would then use a deep well socket for the top springs.
How do we tell if our 3 suspension springs are weak? I just replaced all 3 2 months ago and now My machine is going crazy when spinning again. The other spring looks good and isn't broken either.
Answer Aaron, The replacement springs are the least likely issue at this point. It would take a special spring tension tool, and a spring rating from the manufacturer's engineering dept.to test. You do want to check and make sure the base of the unit is not bent, cracked or distorted(especially in the area where the springs mount to the base), check the tub support assembly for the same. Check and make sure the rear, self levelling legs and mechanism 358652, 358594 are operating, and locking in place. and the washer front feet are levelled. Also check and make sure all the panels and panel clips are properly aligned and locked in place. Thanks
