My Fridge will not go into auto defrost. I have a sheet that tells me how to put it in force defrost and when I do that it will defrost. But it does not do it on its own. What trigers it to go into defrost Mode? I know the old ones use to be on a timer and do it every seven hrs. But I don't know what trigers this model to defrost. Does it have a senser or something? Your help would be appreacated. Thanks

Answer Thomas, Your fridge has an "adaptive defrost control" (ADAPTIVE DEFROST CONTROL The adaptive defrost control assembly is a microprocesser controlled defrost timer. This new control allows defrost to occur only when needed, compared to mechanical timers which defrost at a preset interval whether it is necessary or not. The new control will continually adjust defrost intervals based on the amount of time the defrost heater is energized. This allows the defrost intervals to be adjusted closer to the optimum defrost interval based on use,
thus saving energy.) Your particular system, is a circuit in the main control board/digital display board 12784415. Thanks and Good Luck
My fridge and freezer are not cold ,will not make ice or freeze food. Refridgerator motor and fan seems to continuesley run. Is there any kind of tests to perform to sort out the problem whether its the thermostat, start device or even low on freon or something else? I"ve performed all the basic troubleshooting checks. Thanx greg.

Answer Hi Greg. You need to look at the back wall of the freezer and you will see it frozen with frost. This will keep the compressor running in order to satisfy the cold temperature fresh food control. It cannot since the evaporator fan cannot circulate the frozen air because of the block of ice. The defrost thermostat is part # 4387490. The defrost heater is part # 2263749. Thank you.
