The start device is the start relay and thermal protection, (overload), for the compressor. The electronic control 12784415 turns the defrost cycle on and off. If the evaporator compartment gets up to 50°F before the defrost cycle is completed, the defrost thermostat turns off the defrost heater before frozen goods start to thaw.
