I think I messed up the switch (AP3095444) by putting a longer screw in to replace one that fell out and got thrown away...now I think I need to replace the switch itself...it's on a RF366PXGQ0 range...is it that hard to replace the switch myself??? Could you walk me the process?

How do I tell if the switch on a stove or the element is bad.?? My switch on the whirlpool glass top wasn't working , so I took it off and then replaced it while waiting for a new one. Now when the switch is turned on, the light on the stove goes on showing the switch on, but the burner does not get hot. Not sure if switch or element is bad. Thanks
