Is this the right part for a maytag stack w/d model # lsg7806aae & how do you install it? Or could you show me a drawing?
Answer Hello Mykey. Take the two screws out of the front panel to remove the front panel to access and replace the lid switch 12001514. Once removed, you will remove the access panel above the washer lid and access the screws securing the lid switch in place on the unit.
CAN YOU SHOW ME WERE IT IS . A DRAWING
Answer Mykey, You're most likely working on a later version of a Maytag Stacked laundry system, (SG7804 or 7806) and the part number and diagram, indicates it is the washer lid switch. The switch assembly is mounted to the underside of the washer top panel, in the right rear corner, and there is one screw that mounts it to the upper side of the washer top. You'll need to remove power to the unit, slide the washer out from under the dryer, remove the front panel, Remove the two bolts(one in each front corner) remove the two rear top mount bolts in the openings in the corners of the top, and raise the washer top assembly sideways(right to left)
Can you show or tell me how to install it?
Answer Hello Mykey. The first thing to do is to remove the power. Remove the front panel. Then Look up under the front of the top and remove the 2 3/8" lt. and rt. corner bolts. Remove the front cover panel under the controls. This will allow the access to the switch assy. It may be easier to lift the lid assy. off the top. You just need to make sure that you do not loose the lid hinge balls as they will poop off and fly out. This makes it easier to remove the switch assy as the lid out of balance lever will not engage the switch mechanics. Just use a dab of grease on the ball when replacing the lid. Put the balls on the lid and work one corner at a time. Use a felt marker on the old switch body to mark where it goes. This will quickly help the realignment of the new one (a critical step). The switch assy is part # 12001514. Thank You.
