How does the high limit switch work on the oven? Does it stop the oven from igniting?
Carolyn for Model Number wg30100w
Answer Hello Carolyn,
The high limit switch kills the power to the unit because if it gets hot enough to open, there is usually a stuck relay or shorted harness bypassing a thermostat. This is a fire preventative measure. It will kill the entire units' ability to operate. Replacing the high limit thermostat will not necessarily correct the units' operation. You need to check the unit for stuck relays and any possible shorts.
Where is the high limit switch located?

Answer Hello Patrick. The hi limit switch 7403P249-60 is located on the back of the unit. You will need to remove the back cover to access the hi limit. Hope this helps.
