The left rear ignitor keeps clicking about every 30 seconds even when the burners are all turned off. any ideas how to make stop?
You will want to do a continuity check on the ignition switch. In the off position the switch should have no continuity. If it does then the switch is bad and need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
How do you open the top section of the stove to examine the igniter lower section and the wiring of the igniter that goes to the spark module.
Answer Fernando, Remove the grates, burner caps, burner rings, and drip pans(if supplied). You will need to remove the three(3) small phillips heaed screws on each burner(the screws have a tendency to break off) so you may want to order a few(12) just in case 4372387 .
Once you have the screws removed from the burner, lightly press down on the burner, to break the gasket loose under the cooktop. There are two(2) spring clips along the front edge of the cooktop and manifold cover panel, with a flat bladed tool(putty knife) press in on the spring clip and lift uop on the corner of the cooktop. Once you raise the cooktop, you'll have access to everything, igniters, spark module, wires , etc. Thanks and Good Luck
