Washer will not go thru rinse or spin cycle continues to agitate then just shuts off. Although if just as the timer pointer reaches the rinse or spin cycle I lift the lid then close it the rinse and spin will cycle.
Could this be the lid switch or the timer?

Answer Chuck,
This issue would most like be that the lid is not making proper contact with the lid switch. Check your switch and the contact points that hit the lid switch to make sure that you are getting a good contact each time. If the lid switch is not getting good contact it will not spin.
Washer will fill but will not start any of the normal wash cycles. I hear the timer but no action from the washer. I replaced the timer a year ago and the fill switch 6 months ago. Could it be the lid switch this time around?

Answer Roz45, At this point, it's not likely the lid switch, You said you could hear the timer, if the switch were at fault, the timer would not run. You may have a faulty contact in the new timer, or a loose or broken wire to the motor. You may want to check the wiring harness block connector for a loose connection at the timer, and / or the motor.
