What is the limited switch and what is it function? Doing self cleaning the oven stop and the door are lock, will not unlock. Before the self cleaning the oven was working fine. I know that it can come from over heating, can the limited switch possibly be my answer to replace.
The limit switch would be a safety to make sure that the oven does not overheat. You will want to test the limit switch for continuity and make sure that it has continuity. If no continuity then the part is bad and would need to be replaced. You will also want to check to make sure that the control board is sending power to the bake and broil elements.
I am replacing the switch and the wires had burned off. When installing the switch, Which wire goes to which side?
Answer Hello Davey,
This device has no polarity. In other words, it's like a fuse in the sense that the circuit doesn't care which way it's installed. You can hook it up either way and it will work just fine.
