Most Interesting

Have an older Kenmore series 70 dryer. It will not start. I have checked the thermal fuse and there is full power to the unit. There is power at the on/off switch. I suspect the switch but want to be sure before ordering part. Door switch appears OK and I have tried starting the dryer in various cycle settings Thanks.

Press the dryer start button and dryer starts to turn, when you let go and it stops turning, smells hot like something overheating.

The timer runs and never stops. The buzzer stays on when the cycle ends. I show continuity on the switch when it isn't actuated. Do you think this is a bad switch? I replaced the timer already as it wouldnt advance.

Dryer has started on its own a few times, without pushing the start button. It seems if the door is closed (as it usually is), the timer will keep moving, after a normal cycle, and the dryer will turn itself on again, even without a push of the start button. Door switch is okay, timer seems to be working, and the start button feels okay, but could the start button be made up all the time and restarting the cycle on its own? Thank you
