When dryer is done alarm stays on and when I open the door it stops. Then I shut the door the dryer starts up with out hitting the start button. Does this mean the starter switch is bad or is it the alarm switch?
Answer Hello Kevin. You can test the switch. If it does not read closed when not pressed, it is fine and the motor will need to be replaced. As for the alarm, you will need to order and replace the timer on the unit.
I was checking the blower running when the back panel touched the dryer cycling thermostat and shorted it out. Now the Dryer won't start running.
Answer Hello Luis,
The cycling thermostat is in the heating circuit and will have nothing to do with the unit running. When the short occurred, the breaker probably tripped in the circuit box. If this is not the case, you should check the dryer plug for burned spots and the terminal block for loose or burned contacts. The excessive current flow from the short could have accelerated the failure of a loose connection. Also check the door switch.
Dryer won't turn off when I push to turn off. How do I troubleshoot this switch? The 4 tabs are throwing me off and make me believe that this May go to a relay. Thank you very much!
The push to start switch would be checked by checking continuity when you push the switch. If the unit is not going into the off position when it is running then the most likely cause would be a faulty timer.
