The outer portion of the dual burner isnt working. Is this more likely due to the infinite switch or the dual rocker switch?
Answer Hello Amy! Test for power to the center from the switch. If there, replace the element. If there is no power, you will need to order and replace the switch in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
How do I replace this rocker switch AP4098224 on my Maytag stove.
To replace the rocker switch you will need to pull the unit out from the wall and disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the back off the control panel and locate the rocker switch. Using a flat blade screw driver push on the clips that hold the switch in place and pull out from the front of the unit. Once the switch is out you will want to disconnect the wires one at a time and switch to the new rocker switch. Then push back in, put the panel back on, reconnect the power and slide unit back into place.
