My temperature selector switch is bad for sure. I noticed there are different resistor parts (AP4038316 & AP4038401) listed as 12 in the diagram as well. Do I need to order the resistor or is this switch (AP4038305) all I need? If I need the resistor, how do I know which one to purchase?
Answer Hello Matt,
This is a case where there was a production change during the manufacture of a model number. In this case, the correct part number is determined by the first two digits of the serial number This is referred to as a series change. Basically, this means that during production, changes were made to the units' design, requiring different replacement parts. In this case 31001447 is the temperature switch for units with a serial number beginning with 14 or lower and 31001483 is the resistor assembly needed. On the other hand, if your units' serial number begins with 15 or higher, 53-4395 is the temperature switch needed and the resistor assembly needed is the 31001704.
What does this do?
Answer Hello Steven. 31001447 is the temperature switch. You use it to set the temperature of the cycle. Hope this helps.
