Hot Point Electric Stove (I think) with oven switch 9762215 - Burners are fine. Oven is not working. Very expensive switch. Will like to order one but I will like to troubleshoot first. Switch part number is 9762215. I am good with tools and a multimeter, but dont know the readings I am looking for. This is our small church's stove, used special functions - We don't have much money and will hate for the church to take a $100 hit without making sure.

PURCHASED THIS STOVE APR 2010 USED THE OVEN 4 TIMES SINCE, NOW NOTHING. THE TOP 4 ELEMENTS ARE FINE. 23 OHMS ACROSS THE OVEN ELEMENT. ZERO VOLTS ACROSS THE OVEN ELEMENT WHEN SET ON ANY DEGREES, 350, ETC. NO OVEN LIGHT EITHER. VERY UPSETTING. OF COURSE THE 1 YEAR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. IN READING SEVERAL BLOGS ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A EXTREMELY COMMON MANUFACTURE DEFECT. SO SAD, PAID $304 AT LOWES AND A NEW SWITCH, YOU LIST AT $115. LOWES PERSONELL BASICALLY ASKED "DID YOU GET THE EXTENDED WARANTEE? YOU SHOULD HAVE WITH A WIRLPOOL PRODUCT. VERY UPSETTING. EVERY STOVE I EVER OWNED LASTED 25-30 YEARS. DO YOU BELIEVE IT IS THE SWITCH ON THE STOVE THAT TURNS ON THE OVEN? THANK YOU.

This is a follow up to the last question. I checked the bake element for continuity and had 23 ohms. Then I checked for voltage at the element and had no voltage until switch hit 450 degrees. The switch doesn't seem to click "on" until it is at 450 or briol. Just want to confirm I have a bad switch before I order (especially since the switch is half the price of the stove)

Range is ~14 months old. Cook top works fine. Oven does not come on any longer, neither in bake or broil. Removed lower oven element. It checks at ~28ohms, no shorts. With power on, each lead feeding the element measure 120 to common. From lead to lead, with oven thermostat in OFF position, it measure ~8volts (essentially open ckt, but digital volt meter fluctuates 6-8 volts). With oven control turned on (to say 300 degrees) there is exact 0 voltage across the two element terminals. Does this sound like an oven control issue?
