My dryer overheats. I don't find any questions relative to this situation. The vent is not clogged.....the hot air coming out has melted some of the vinyl siding on the house. I don't find a typical thermostat for this model.
Based on the information it sounds like the unit is cycling on the high limit thermostat instead of the cycling thermostat. To determine which thermostat you would need you will have to look at the first 2 digits of the serial number. If the serial number is 10 -14 then you would need part number 31001192 and if it is 15 or higher you will need part number 31001088. The cycling thermostat can be found on the blower housing. Another thing to look at is for a shorted heating element. If the heating element is shorted then it will never shut off.
What Would Cause My Dryer To Start To Dry And Then Stop, If I Push The Start Knob It Will Run Another 10 Minuets And Stop Again, THANK YOU
You will want to check the terminal block and wiring connections to the motor for loose connections. This would be the most likely cause of the issue.
Dryer stopped getting hot and I made sure the vent was clean.
Answer Hello Get.western. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
