Not all of the buttons on my dishwasher will function. Whirlpool DU941PWKQ1. The Rinse button appears to work, and the Pots and Pans cycle button works, but none of the other wash cycles will function properly. Cancel/drain appears to work. Most of the other buttons will neither work nor light up. When I hit Normal Wash, the sani rinse and cancel drain buttons light up and won't turn off. The Normal wash button doesn't cause the actual wash cycle to start; I think it just goes into drain mode (although there is nothing to drain). I'm stuck using a lot of water and energy because only the Pots and Pans wash cycle will work. Any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it? I'd like to be able to use light wash and normal wash again. Thanks.

Hi, Our dishwasher will not start when we push the start button, however every other button will work and it will drain when you push the cancel button and you can set it to any of the cycle options, we just cant get the start button to work. Wondering what it could be?

Answer Hello Laura. If the door switches are good, you will need to order and replace the control panel on the unit. You can access the tech sheet on the unit and do a ribbon cable test, but most of the time it is a bad panel. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Stuck in locked mode ,have tried pressing the air dry button for 5 seconds like it says also tried high temp and dry then cancel still locked out, disconnected the ribbon connector for the keypad ,light goes out,not sure if there is a fuse somewhere? please help relatives coming for xmas!

Answer Hello Steve, It may be showing the lock out due to another issue. This unit if you have multiple keys stuck on on the touch pad then the unit will cause the lock light to flash. Try to disconnect the ribbon harness between touch pad and control board. Make sure the contacts are clean and reinsert. If the light still will not goe off then you would need to replace the membrane switch.
