To troubleshoot this item I would like to know the OHM value range, to see if it is bad and if I need to order a new one from you.
Answer Joe, Based on several cross referenced models, you forgot to list a model number, the service manual or tech data sheet does not list a thermistor reference chart, You will need to conduct the diagnostic tests through the control board to test the thermistor for a pass or fail and the registerring temperature. You can find the tech data sheet up in the compressor compartment, or we can supply you with a tech data test sheet if you supply us with an email address and model number. Thanks
I have been advised to replace the thermister AP4076741 in my refrigerator. Where is it located and can I do this job with ordinary tools?
Answer Hello Dave,
The fresh food thermistor in the model you indicated is actually behind the rail that the shelves attach on to. You will need to remove the shelves and, using an ordinary Phillips head screwdriver, remove the shelf rail. You will need to splice the thermistor in and seal the connections so moisture won't cause a failure. You can seal the connections with either white lithium grease or with silicone.
