Hello, My refrigerator control panel keeps shutting on and off and I hear the evaporator fan is the freezer do the same. I removed the panel last night and saw that the evaporator motor was turning off and on. But, as time passed I noticed that by having the freezer door open that the temp rose to 40 degrees in the unit. I did not notice anything obvious so I put the panels back on and noticed that the refrigerator started to work normal again and was not shutting off and on. I monitored the refrigerator for an hour and noticed it was still running fine and the freezer and refrigerator were getting cold. I checked the unit again in the morning and saw that it started shutting off and on again. Could this be a Thermistor problem?

I am wondering if a faulty thermistor might be causing my temperature issue. I set my control board to 37 degrees for the fridge, and my freezer is set to 2 degrees, but control board reads that it's in the 50's for the fridge and 14 degrees for freezer. The actual temperature is way colder and getting below freezing in the fridge. My evap fan is working and constantly running (not sure if that is normal) and air baffle is working. I am hoping it's not the control board though.

I just had a repairman install a new thermistor on my 12 year old Kitchenaid 42" built-in side-by-side refrigerator. I looked up the price of the actual part on this website and was surprised to see that it was around $30.00. I was charged $109 for the part. Am I missing something?
