We have a two year old Kitchen Aid ice maker. It has started continually makes ice, packing the bin full. Is this a problem with the thermistor and, if so, is it an easy enough fix for us to do it ourselves? Thank you so much!
Answer Betsey, Starting at the bin thermostat would be a good idea, based on your post information. It is a pretty easy, simple process "To remove the bin thermistor: a) Disconnect the bin thermistor connector from the bottom of the control housing. b) Pull the bin thermistor out of the retaining clamp and remove it. Reverse the procedure to install new part." If you need more assistance, please attach a model number to your next post.
