If my icemaker is making too much ice and never stops making it, can I pretty much assume Part AP3865361 will take care of that issue?

We have a two year old Kitchen Aid ice maker. It has started continually makes ice, packing the bin full. Is this a problem with the thermistor and, if so, is it an easy enough fix for us to do it ourselves? Thank you so much!

Two Questions 1. I have had the unit for 2 years, it works well however now it will not stop making ice, the bin now overflows and I have to empty it daily 1. the red Clean/Reset light is on, is this activated based on time or volume of ice that has been produced. The ice quality is perfect there is no difference from the first day I bought it. If I press on the button I cannot seem to be able to reset it. Any thoughts suggestions. Thank you

Latest Questions

Icemaker does not make ice. Water continues to circulate for a long period of time but no ice production. Could the problem be the bin thermistor? If not, any suggestions? Previous sympton was an overflow bin of frozen ice. After removing all frozen together ice the machine no longer produced ice.

My icemaker fills the bin initially, then after 12 hours or so of operation, no more ice is produced, the existing ice begins to melt, and the compressor(I think?) make a noise every 60 seconds (roughly) like it's trying, and failing, to cycle on. Could a faulty thermostat be the cause?

When the ice machine will not stop making ice, is it usually the thermostat or the electronics it is connected to?
