What is the temperature for the thermal cut off switch?
Renee for Model Number LTE5243DQ9
Answer Hello Renee,
The thermal fuse opens at 196 degrees. If the thermal fuse [AP3919267} is open then you have to replace the fuse. Use a multi-meter to test the thermal fuse. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Dryer dosen't heat up. Volt meter is 0 zero at heater terminals when dryer is running. Which part could it be?
MIATA1316. for Model Number LTE5243DZ2
Answer Hello Miata1316. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater 279843 and thermal fuse 3404154 and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
My dryer does not heat. Is this the part most likely the cause? Or, how do I dicide what part is needing change?
Dave S
Answer Hello Dave, You will need to test the parts on the dryer to see if they are bad with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. Test the thermal fuses and the heater. They should read closed or 0 for continuity. Also check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Hope this helps.
