My oven worked on sunday am and then we tried to use it again and it quit. The stove top still works all burners. If the thermostat has gone out can it be bought with the wires and the probe. This part is so expensive and I can't afford to pay over $70 for one. Otherwise I will go buy a toaster oven to cook. Please advise if we can just replace the little silver box and reattach the wires to it. thank you. my friends son is an electrician and he knows how to wire it. thank you. julie

I do need Whirlpool 74005019 Thermostat, but, I was wondering if its just possible to replace the Thermostat cut off of this switch (the white/black colored 3 pole switch that the temp thermocouple pushes on). After doing an ohms test and repairing that part of the switch the best I could (burnt contacts) the oven is now working. I am sure you will tell me its a un-serviceable part because of the temperature adjustment that needs to be done at the factory, but I thought it was worth asking.

The broiler element heats fine but the bottom heating element is just warm. Do I understand that I need to replace the thermostat? Or the bottom heating element too? What are the part numbers for those?

My Whirlpool gas range oven (just 1 1/2 years old) no longer works. At first, the oven would heat up. It would come up to temperature and then it would not heat up again while I was trying to bake cookies. So of course, it took twice as long for me to bake the cookies and I had to keep adjusting the temp to get it to bake. Now, the oven will not heat up at all. Would this be the thermostat? Thanks for your help, Dee

My Crosley range bake element failed and the oven light stayed on even though the switch was in the off position. If I push on the oven knob, the oven light goes out. I replaced the bake element, and the oven still comes and the oven light stays on even though the switch for the oven is in the off position. Could it be the thermostat?
