How to replace thermostat in Hardwick gas stove part # AP4098471 . MFG Part # 74007567 made by Whirlpool

Answer Jon, You will need to turn the gas off to the range, and may need to unplug the power cord from the outlet. Then raise or remove the cooktop, after you get the drip pans and grates removed. You will then need to remove all the burner and thermostat knobs from the manifold panel, then remove the screws that secure the panel to the chassis and side panels(usually 4 to 6 phillips head screws) and slide the panel out and off the range. You'll need to use a 5/16 " socket or nut driver, to remove the two mounting bolts that hold the thermostat to the manifold pipe, clean the area on the pipe, open the oven door and remove the temperature bulb from the retainer clip(s) in the oven cavity, and extract the tubing and bulb through the opening in the cavity. Reverse the procedure and test the range and oven for operation.
