Hi, its an Amana gas dryer. The dryer comes on igniter glows, ignites gas, motor kicks on you can hear the valves "click" -- it runs for maybe 30/45 seconds and then motor and gas shut off. It will instantly restart . I changed the coils and tested all the sensors. I even used a automotive 2 prong fuse to jump the connectors , runs cuts off.....
Panhead for Model Number NDG8805AWW
Answer Hi Panhead. If you hear a loud click over and over, then the high limit is working short cycling. It is part # 33002567. Also the flame sensor part # 338906, is mounted to the Lt. of the flame. Ir4 acts as the cycling thermostat normally. It opens coil voltage as the flame heats up and cools down. Clean the entire vent system and make sure all kinks are removed. Clear the outside vent flapper to open and close 4-5x /yr. So rain, dew and snow do not allow the moisture to back up and cause a restriction. Restrictions cause short cycling as well. Thank You.
My dryer seems fully functional, but what would cause it to not put out heat to dry the clothes?
Marlin for Model Number MDG5500AWW
Answer Hello Marlin. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
