My maytag washing machine would't drain the water on either regular or permanent press cycle

My Repair & Advice
The gentle cycle did work, so I figured that the cycle controller was the problem. I searched on line with the make and model # for parts and found the item with a picture that looked just like the part in my machine, so I bought it, and it came right away. Installation was simple, the hardest part was figuring out I had to pry off the cover at the center of the dial to remove the clip that held the dial onto the pin. Once that was done, it was easy to see which screws had to be taken out, and the connecting wire assembly came off easily once I pushed down the holders on the sides. The new one was essentially identical, so putting it in was just reversing the process. The washer worked perfectly, so my diagnosis was correct, and it saved buying a new machine for probably $750 to get equivalent quality.
