During the end of any spin cycle, my Maytag washer makes a loud screeching sound when it comes to a stop. Are there any suggestions for any part I can check?
Answer Kenric, Based on your post, at this point you have a noisy brake rotor 35-6714. This is a "dry" brake system, so don't attempt to lube the assembly. You can clean the stator with emory cloth and clean the interior surface with alcohol. and you'll need to remove two screws from the stator and go to a hardware store and purchas two screws with the same thread and pitch bit 1 or 2 inches long, so you can remove the stator, without disturbing the 200 lb. tension spring. It's not as bad as it sounds, and we've sent you a PDF file to assist you. Thanks and Good Luck
My washer will not spin and drain in the White or Color cycles. It will spin and drain in the delicate cycle. If I replace the timer will it fix this?
Answer Hello Rich. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer 22002716 is bad and will need to be replaced. Test and see if power is comeing to the motor in the White or Color cycle. If there is no power to the motor, you will need to replace the timer. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
