Have a Maytag LDE9206ACE electric dryer that seems to be taking longer than usual to dry clothes on the 'sensor' setting. I have replaced dryer vent hose and cleaned the vent (both were essentially clean and only 3 feet long) and all the fuses and T-stats test OK. Since I can't find a sensor for moisture on this model's wiring diagram, I suspect the timer or temp switch. Since I assume you have to remove and heat the temp switch, is there a way to test a timer with a multimeter and rule it out before going to the hassle of removing the temp switch and heating it?

We recently moved from a house in one community to another house in another community about 200 miles distance. The dryer worked fine when we disconnected it and loaded it on a U-Haul truck for transport. Due to unforseen circumstances the dryer along with all of our other household goods were on board the U-Haul for a full week in tempuratures that exceeded 100 F. We off loaded the dryer and hooked it up and the first time we used it the motor runs but the dryer will not heat. Following your diagnostic and repair information I have run continuity test on the power cord and all wiring to the heater element, including tests on thermal fuses and hi - limit thermostat. So far all items have checked out ok. I am not sure how to test the cycling thermostat or the timer and tempurature switches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
