Can I purchase a timer motor with out buying the timer?
Answer Hello R.T. No, you must buy the timer 3347793 for the timer motor.
My washing machine fills up the water and you can hear the buzzing sound when it is filling up but when it reaches the water level that you have it set on instead of starting to agitate it buzzes for a few seconds and then it shuts off without even starting the washing cycle. I think it is the timer, but would really like a professional opinion before I spend that much money replacing the timer. Thanks for any help that you can offer.
Answer Lakisha, Sounds like you may have two issues, the buzz noise when filling, indicates a slow fill, or possibly a faulty fill valve 285805. You'll want to disconnect the fill hoses and check and remove any sediment or debriss from the screens in the hoses and fill valve. A quick easy check, is to put the washer control into a spin/drain setting, and start the washer. if the motor runs , then your timer is at fault. If it also hums in the spin cycle, start by replacing the timer 3347793
