When you say "the dishwasher will stop", I need to make sure I understand correctly. My machine continues to run, but the timer just doesn't advance, so it just keeps running in that cycle. Also, when it gets stuck, I observed that the water is quite hot (didn't measure the temp), but it still continues to run. Sorry to keep going on and on, I just want to make sure my troubleshooting is complete, before spending big bucks. Thanks Again.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, the heater works I know because I have the machine outside using cold water from a garden hose, and it is heating the water. Does the timer stop running until the water reaches a certain temperature? Not knowing how old the machine is, I might just opt for a new one instead of spending the $134 on a timer for a machine that I really don't know much about. Does the serial number tell when it was manufactured? Thanks so much for the help.

The timer gets stuck in a couple of positions, one right after the detergent door release, and the other after the light wash. I can help it past these spots and it goes on to work ok. It seems the timer works ok, but maybe there is excessive friction somewhere. Do you think replacing the timer will fix it? This machine was in a house that I bought. It had a leak, and I took to door panel off and got the leak fixed, but maybe I did something wrong. I have no idea if the timer worked properly before. The serial no. is FE2801136 (partially obliterated). Do you know when it was manufactured?
