Answer Warren, You may not have any damage to the dryer at all. But , the L! (black) wire is routed from the terminal block to the BK terminal on the timer. The R terminal is the heater circuit and the BU terminal is the motor circuit. The L2 (red) wire is routed from the terminal block to the motor the 2M terminal and exits to the heater element on the 1M terminal(two red wires). with the motor in a non run mode, there should be an "open" circuit between 1M and 2M terminals of the motor. In most cases the issue should have stopped there.

Answer Hello. Test the thermal fuses and flame sensor. You can test these with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Hope this helps.
