I purchased a new timer (part no. 3946430) to replace the old timer (part no. 3351811B) on my washer (model no. LA5558XTW2). The new timer does not have the threaded mounting holes like the original timer has. Is this a defective part or has the way that it should be mounted change?
Answer Moe, You have the correct part number 3946430. Things have changed. The original timer probably had threaded stand offs. The new timer wouldn't have these, and the timer body has pre drilled holes in the housing in the same location as the stand offs. you'll find it a bit easier to partially install the mounting screws into the timer holes, before you install the timer.
I need the timer. My part number is 33671811. You show part number AP3099903. Is this the same as mine? Thanks, Don
Answer Hello Don,
The timer you are looking for comes up in our system by model number LA5558XSW0 as part number 3946430. This should be the same as yours if the model you were looking at is correct. If the part number you show came off of the old part, it is probably a manufacturing number, which cannot be crossed.
