Hi Appliance part pros, My wahser machine motor makes this humming sound. Sometimes it goes through the full cycle some other times it doesn't. when it doesn't, the motor makes this humming sound not doing anything. I tested the motor by it self thinking that the pump or gear box might be getting stuck contributing to the humming, but the motor ran for 20 min like it should and them stopped and started to make the humming sound. So it is not the pump or the gear box. I have replaced the motor and capacitor but the problem still there. Could it be the timer? thank you for your help in advance.

The timer and washer operates in all modes except in spin cycle. The timer stops and the washer doesn't spin at all. It sounds like the machine is off and then it will make a humming noise every 5 minutes or so for about 10 seconds and then go quiet again. Does this indicate the timer is bad?

Timer knob will turn, pull out, and push in. But will not turn anything on or activate the machine at all. When turning knob it sounds like the gears could possibly be striped. What could this be?
