We replaced the timer on our dryer and the timer still will not move when we turn on the dryer. Can you give us anymore suggestions on what is wrong with the dryer? Everything works on the dryer but the timer.

Answer Hi Amanda. There is a supplied wiring diagram in the back of the controls area. Use this and see if the wires are not crossed backwards on the timer part # 8299781. The L-1 black wire connects to the Bk timer terminal. The violet wire connects to the V terminal. All blue wires connects to the B terminal. One black wire from the timer motor will connect to the TM terminal. The White w/black wire connects to the WB terminal. The orange wire connects to the OR. terminal. The red wire connects to the R terminal on the timer. Remove the back. Then check the thermal fuse part # 3392519 mounted on the blower housing front. All fuses should ohm out closed - not - open. Make sure the vent is entirely clear and not restricted. Make sure the outside vent cap / hood is opening and closing properly 4-5x /yr. so lint and moisture does not back up and create a restriction causing these issues. Thank You.
My dryer won't turn on. It makes a humming noise when I push the start button like it want's to start. We replaced the motor and checked the thermo fuse ,door switch and the cycling thermostat. Could it be the timer? Thanks, Sue

Answer Sue, The motor hum, tells you the voltage is getting to the motor, but is the voltage correct, You could have a faulty contact in the timer, You could check for 110-120 VAC , on the blue wire at the timer to chassis ground, when you press the start button, with a multi meter. Your first check should be at the terminal block of the dryer on the back, make sure there are no loose connections there, and you have 240 VAC across the two outside terminals of the block(where the wires attach). You need to be careful, if you do live voltage tests. Good Luck and Thanks
