Dryer runs, but doesn't heat, doesn't stop unless door is opened or turn the control dial to 'off', and control dial doesn't autoadvance. Heating element is damaged. When removing the timer, I noticed the connections on red and black wires were black. What could have caused burnt connections? How do I test the timer? I am familiar with ohmmeter.
