Answer Jesse, The unit getting too hot you will want to first check the venting from the blower wheel all the way to the outside of home for clogs or restrictions. If this checks ok and the thermostats check ok then the timer would be the most likely cause. If the timer is not advancing then you would also have a faulty timer.

Answer Hello Davy99. It depends on the issue you are having, but you can always test the timer. You will use the wiring diagram on the unit to see where the power should be depending on the part of the cycle you are in. If power is coming to the timer, but not going out when it should, you will need to replace the timer 8299784. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
