Washer will fill with water. Will not agitate, spin or pump out water. Just total silence, no buzzing. And yes its plugged in. Could it be a timer? Thank you!

My washing machine will wash, rinse, and drain water just fine. I just never know when it is not going to spin at the end of the wash cycle. I have to put it on a different spin cycle to get it to spin at times. Do you think it is the timer that I need to replace? Thank you for your help.

The washer will fill with water. When done filling, it will not agitate or spin. The only thing it does is that it makes a buzzing sound. Sounds like it is coming from the dial where you select cycles. Would that be a bad timer?
