Answer Hello Jay. Yes, if the contacts are stuck in the timer 8541270, it can cause the issue you are having with the unit. Also, id the timer motor wire gets shorted and powers the timer motor, it can cause this issue as well.

Answer Hello Steve. It sounds like the drain hose is to far inside the drain pipe or the there is no air gap for the drain hose. There should only be about 6 to 8" of drain hose into the drain pipe. Also, the drain hose should not be tight into the drain pipe. Both of these can cause the unit to siphone out the water in the unit.

Answer Danny, All your issues are associated to the cold water fill problem. A timer issue is the least likeliest issue at this point. First check you need to make, if you haven't yet, is the fill hose and fill valve debris screens and hoses fopr clogs and possible kinks, then the fill valve 285805 and wires, if you have a meter each solenoid should have a resistance of 500 to 1000 ohms resistance with the wires disconnected. But that test does not guarantee theres no internal failure in the valve itself, which is not uncommon. Thanks and Good Luck
