Freezer works fine but refrigerator is to warm. I put a different defrost timer (not the proper one) just to see if that helped the problem, it did not.The only time the fan in the freezer that blowes air into the frige part seems to come on is when I set the timer to where it defrosts. I also bipassed the door switch to see if that was the problem.
Answer Joey, Did you notice and heavy frost or ice on the freezer back wall, when you started. This is a classic indication of a defrost issue. Put the original or proper defrost timer 2314156 back in the fridge. You implied, the evaportor fan motor runs, but does it run fast enough ? Once you remove the freezer back wall, and check to make sure the defrost drain is not clogged and iced over, and the fan motor is running you'll want to check and make sure the air diffuser is not blocked with ice or water, as well and that theres an even frost pattern on all the coils in the evaporator. Good Luck and Thanks
Defrost cycle on too long, food and ice cream get soft.
Answer Hello Bill. If the timer is sticking in defrost, you will need to replace the defrost timer 2314156. Hope this helps.
Where is timer-defroster switch located?
Answer Hello Wdveazie. The defrost timer is located inside the control panel compartment. You will need to remove the screws holding the control panel in place inside the refrigerator. Then drop the control assembly down to access the defrost timer. Hope this helps.
