Answer Hello Larry. It sounds like the dial 3957849 may be bad and need to be replaced on the unit. Try removing the knob and repositioning the dial. If it is stripped, replace the dial.

Answer Barbara, In the "cool Down" portion of the cycle, the washer fills with cold water. You need to check the cold water fill hose screen and cold water valve screen for debris and sediment, and clean it out, so you have a good , proper cold fill. Thanks and Good Luck
