The washer will fill and then does nothing. I replaced the lid switch and this did not fix the problem. No matter wher you turn the control, no noise, no reaction, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Answer Hello Charles,
You will want to make sure that the hinge is not loose or bent causing it to not fully make contact with lid switch. If the hinge is out of place and not making contact then this would be the cause of unit not operating. If the hinge is seating into the switch but still not running then the timer would be at fault.
My washer is only taking water and does nothing else. What the problem can be? I'm thinking the timer, already checked the lid switch and is good. Thanks, Willy

Answer Hello Willy,
The lid switch 8318084 has most likely failed. If it checks good electrically, this style has had some issues mechanically. If the plastic "loop" is broken, the switch won't "make" when the lid is down. Also, if the screws are loose in the hinges, it will adversely affect the strike. The timer will not be the issue since it would prevent the unit from filling with water. The only other component that would affect the units' running capability without stopping the water fill is the pressure switch W10231403.
