Estate extra heavy duty washer. Washer does not work in any cycle. I have checked the water level switch, got a zero ohm reading on all three terminals. Checked the spin switch visually and ohm meter, zero ohm door open, ohm reading with door closed. Watched contacts touch. Will it be the timer?
Answer Tom, The water level switch has to have a "closed" circuit, you may have checked it incorrectly. In most cases the common terminal is the V (purple wire) with the tub empty or the air tube disconnected there should be a "closed" circuit between V and P(pink wire) terminals on the switch. But, if the washer won't operate at all you may have lost voltage on the black wire to the timer, or the timer itself has failed. If more assistance is needed, please include a model number so we can review the wiring schematic and circuits.
