Dear Parts Pros. Symptom- washer will occasionally reach the spin cycle, will drain but not spin out. Push button in to stop, pull restart and it will spin normally. Replaced the clutch and the transmission AP3096209 (3360629). Normal wear on the clutch no leaking oil but old trans would occasionally knock. New trans seems louder than the original. Im stumped.

The agitator does not work properly: only the bottom part appears to move, accompanied by a clicking sound. The timer seems to work properly and when the wash cycle is complete, the tub drains, rinses and spins with no apparent sign of trouble.

Wash machine will only agitate. Will not drain or fill with water. Dial will not move after agitation. Have a washer full of water now. Do you think it's the timer???

I have a Kenmore 80 series washing machine. The machine will fill with water and start the wash cycle....but it will run the wash cycle for ever if you let it. The dial doesn't move to the next step. You can stop by pushing in the knob in and moving it manually to the next cycle. I will even spin out the water....once again, it will spin forever if you let it. you have to do it all manually. I'm thinking timer but wanted to check with you, someone who knows far better than me, before I spend a lot of money trying to narrow it down

The front knob on the timer just spins. Do I need a new timer or just a knob?

The washer started in wash. When wash was complete, the timer did not advance to start rinse. I manually advanced the timer to rinse and pulled out on the switch. The washer stated in rinse after short time it stopped, I waited for about 15 minutes, timer did not advance and water did not drain. While water was in the washer, I manually advanced the timer to spin and pulled out on the switch but nothing happened.
