How difficult is it to replace the top? Is it possible for me to do or would I need a repairman

Answer Hello Gentry. 1. Remove the console mounting screws and tilt the console into the service position. 2. Unplug the lid switch harness connector from the receptacle in the washer top. 3. Remove the cabinet mounting clips by placing the flat blade of a screwdriver in the clip. 4. Remove the cabinet by tilting it forward and pulling it away from the washer. Hope this helps!

Answer Hello Ron. You will need to gain access into the control panel. There are two gold colored clips that you will need to release and unplug the lid switch. Pull the cabinet toward you and slide it off to access the lid switch. Hope this helps.
