Answer Hello Mary. Disconnecting it from power source before servicing. The cooktop 12001393 is held in position with hinged brackets attached to the rear of cooktop. Grasp the front edge of cook top and lift until the support rods snap into place. Use added support to ensure top is safely secured. Disconnect receptacles from receptacle brackets. Remove screws securing maintop to hinges located at the back of the maintop. Remove ground screw (if applicable) located at the back of the maintop. Top may now be removed. Reverse procedure to reinstall. Hope this helps.
