Saw your response to another asking same question. New knobs won't slide on. Correct model #. Your other answer says to check if metal clips from old knobs were on the metal shafts. Not the case for us. Why won't they fit properly?
Susan for Model Number 3181304
Answer Hi Susan, take a close look at the new knob. It should have a "D" shaped opening. The shaft on your burner valve also has the same "D" shape. If lined up properly, the knob should go on. The previous post is related to the clip in the knob. Sometimes the clip from the old knob is stuck on the shaft of the valve and when you try to install the new knob with clip, it is hitting on the old clip not allowing the knob to go onto the shaft. Hope this helps!
These knobs are the correct part for my appliance, but they do not seem to fit. The original ones do not have the metal clip, and these just do not seem to want to slide on.

Answer Hello Kathleen. The knobs 3181304 should have the metal clip inside them. You will need to check and see if the old clips from the old knobs are stuck on the switch shafts. If so, you will need to remove them. Hope this helps.
