My Maytag cooktop (igniter) started clicking on its own this afternoon. I unplugged it, it stopped, and I plugged it back in and the clicking returned. It's 9 years old, so it is out of warranty. Any recommendations on what part(s) to buy from you all to replace, and if I can do it myself or if I should hire a repair service?
Answer Hello Van,
You will want to check the switches. With power off to unit, check each switch 74007806 for continuity. If you find any of the switches closed then you would need to replace the switch. If the switches check good, check wiring from switches to the spark module for damaged wires. If this checks ok then you would need a new spark module .
I need the control knob for my modern maid oven. The part number at the back of the knob is KIP 5385. What is the corresponding parts on you web site?
If you could re-post with a model number, we will be happy to look it up and give you a part number. The number on the part is a vendor number and the part number cannot be looked up with it.
