My gas stove top making all my pots black an gettig all over my clothes. Do the jets need changing and how I go by doing that?
Yvonne
Answer Hi Yvonne. This is a gas supply issue that will take a qualified tech. with the proper tools to diagnose. This means that it is possible that the safety valve diaprahm is bad letting in way too much gas as long as there were no recent changes in the home w/ gas products. If you need further assistance we are here to advise and provide parts. Send the model # that is behind the control panel or behind the storage drawer. Thank You.
how do you raise the cook top to access the igniters etc, i can see small clips.
Charles Lawrense for Model Number SF385PEGZ1 gas range
Answer Charles, Here'some basic information: " ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD Disconnect power before servicing the range. Replace all panels before operating range. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock. Shut off gas supply line valve before servicing the range. Check all gas line connections and replace all panels before operating the range. Failure to do so could result in explosion, fire, or other injury.
1. Turn off the gas and electrical power going to the range. 2. Remove the grates and keep-warm rack from the cooktop. 3. Lift the four burner caps and burner bases off the burners and the spark ignitors. 4. Remove the mounting screw from each of the four burners. 5. Lift the front of the cooktop and unsnap it from the two clips, then raise the cooktop and prop it up. 3. To remove a spark ignitor: a)Disconnect the ignitor wire from the spark module. b)Push the ignitor and clip out of the cooktop mounting hole. NOTE: You may have to squeeze the ignitor clip together at the gap to remove the ignitor from the mounting hole." Good Luck and Thanks
