Igniters were working intermittently but now do not even get a click. Need a match to lite. Is it difficult to replace both igniters and module?Assume one has to remove front panel to get at the subject pieces? Top also? Thanks.

Answer Hello Walter, You will want to check the burner switches first. Check them with the gas off to the unit and with the valve on. Check for continuity. If there is no continuity then the switch is bad. If the switches check good then you would want to check the spark module 1430322. Based on the information and all ignitors not working then it would more than likely be the spark module.

The ignitor on the right side burners comes on when we try to light the left burners. No spark on the left. A Maytag repairman replaced the spark unit last year. Now the left we have to start with a match. Everything is clean. All 5 burners work well once lite. I get a rare spark on the left. Mostly right spart when attempting to light a burner on the left. Would relpacing the left ignitor be an option? I replaced the micro switch wchich resolved fan operations

Answer Hello Don. Inspect the igniter for cracks and make sure it is not chipped. If the igniter reads closed and is not cracked, you either have a bad spark module 1430322 or the spark switches Y704512 are bad on the unit.

The igniter on my stove top is not working for both burners, what is the best way to determine if its the switch, the spark module, or the igniter itself? When you turn on the front left burner, the extractor fan comes on for some reason, what can be causing this? The switch for the fan/oven light is not working, what can I do to determine this issue as well?

Answer Hello Susan. You are going to need to perform a voltage test using a meter on all the parts and see where you are loosing voltage at. If the switches are closing when turned on, then the module is the problem. The igniters 71002179 should closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Answer Mike, It's actually a simple repair, the hardest part is moving the range out of the cabinet , so you can remove the back panel and access the igniter mounting nut, on the bottom of the burner bay. Good Luck and Thanks
