How do I change the left side switch ignitors.

Answer John, First thing, remove power to the cooktop and turn the gas supply off at the wall. Remove the vent cover grille, burner knobs, and vent motor knob. Remove the two phillips head screws that attache the escutchean to the cooktop, on the inside of the blower plenum. Lift the escutcheon up in the back slightly and slide the assembly away from the front, until the locking tabs are free and you can then lift the escutcheon up and off the housing. Now you should have access to the switches, remember to change them one at a time, so you don't mix things up. labelling them can be helpful as well. Reverse the procedure, restore power and gas and check the burners for operation.
When I turn on the left burners, front or rear the fan blower comes on. Does not happen when using the right burners.Blew out the switch with air for moister, same thing happens. any suggestions?

Answer John, First, check the "tongue" or pin, on the bottom of the areation pan 3401X055-09 make sure it hasn't broken off or bent up. If the tongue doesn't activate the fan bypass switch, the fan will run, whenever a burner is turned on, it's designed to do that, because of the grille burner in the left side bay. You can remove power to the cooktop, remove the burner and pan assembly, and using a small scredriver, insert it into the opening in the bay wall and press down on the switch lever and listen for the switch to "click" off and on several times.
