How do I take this top part off of my model. I have gotten the back of the cabinet off but the top is stuck. What's holding it and how do I get it off? Thanks.
Answer Roy, You'll find it easier if you remove the control panel and disconnect the air tube from the water level switch. " The assembly is mounted to the cabinet with two(2) steel hinges which are attached to the upper cabinet rear by two(2) screws. These hinges fit into slots located in the back edge of the top panel this allows the top assembly to be raised for servicing. Two holes pierced into the front flange of the top assembly align with two(2) locating pins to center the top assembly to the cabinet. Two(2) spring clips engage the top panel flange and secure the top assembly to the cabinet front." You'll need to insert a putty knife in the seam between the top and the front panel, approximately 3 inches in from the front corners of the cabinet, press in on the spring and pull up on the corner of the top. Once the top is raised, remove the two(2) 5/16 in. hex head screws from the top flange of the front panel and remove it. Disconnect the wires from the fill valve coils, the motor switch and from any retainer clips holding the harness., then lift the top assembly up and off the cabinet.
